Climate Change and Health Equity Education
Health professionals are on the frontlines of climate change, caring for patients who are impacted by extreme heat, worsened air quality, hurricanes and flooding. We work with health professionals to help them understand how climate change interacts with social determinants of health to deepen health inequities.
Record hurricanes, floods, and wildfires make it hard for people to get medical care.
Power outages place medically vulnerable residents at risk when they are unable to refrigerate life-saving medications or run home medical equipment.
Climate disasters have a ripple effect on the resilience of all healthcare systems, as extreme weather events across the globe have disrupted supply chains and caused shortages of essential medications and supplies.
The education team aims to increase health professional and public literacy about the intersection between climate, health, and equity.
